New Tea shop Opens in “Old Town” Round Rock

There is a lovely new tea shop, known as “Friar Tuck's Pantry”, that opened in Round Rock in January. For your entertainment, they have comfy chairs, free WiFi, board games, a kid's play area, newspapers, and magazines. It feels like you could sit on a couch and sip tea all day! The tables, in this calming restaurant, are always clean. I love Friar Tuck's, because it is a great place to relax.

The scones are my favorite treats for a quick snack with a cup of tea. Shaped like a biscuit, they are served fresh and made by the staff right in the store. Fluffy and moist, the scones have the perfect light brown color. With many different flavors of tea sold, my suggestion is the “Texas Summer” if you want a sweet drink. The “Southern Belle Mint” makes a very refreshing cup of tea.

Deborah Stevenson and her husband own this family business. Deborah came to Texas from Shilbottle, England, which can be found three miles from Alnwick in Northumberland. Susan Vaughan cheerfully assists her. Busily waiting tables, Erin Billenger works efficiently, so food stays warm. The staff loves to see new people.

Serving lunch from 11am to 3 pm, Friar Tuck's also makes wonderful sandwiches. Susan highly recommends the “Stilton and Pear” sandwich. They have a delicious selection of desserts, which are sold all day. More than just a tea shop, they sell pantry items that cannot be found in other places! Coming soon, breakfast will go nicely with their fine selection of coffees. If you like English groceries and great food, this is the place for you.

  1. Good review from you too. I bet your Dad likes this place too, if I remember correctly from Mom that your Dad like tea. Sounds like a great hang out place.
